Next-level drinking water hygiene
Contaminated drinking water directly impacts animal health, welfare and performance. Adding medicines, vaccines, and nutritional supplements to the drinking water creates a biofilm, resulting in organic pollution of the water. Biofilm is the breeding ground for pathogenic microorganisms. There are many pathogens that are transmitted via the drinking water system, such as E. coli, Salmonella, the Avian Influenza Virus, and the African Swine Fever Virus. Once such a pathogen is present in the drinking water system, it can quickly infect the whole population, as the pathogens are directly consumed.
Removing the biofilm already removes 99% of all microorganisms, and the remaining pathogens will not stand a chance against Intra Hydrocare, which is effectively till the last nipple due to its strong stabilized character. This way, you can prevent the drinking water system from acting as a transmission route for pathogens and from infecting your pigs/poultry.
Intra Hydrocare is Fully Biodegradable.
The product is available in the following packaging units: 10 L cans. With Intra Hydrocare you get value for money. Besides the unique money-back guarantee, Intra Hydrocare is a densely composed product. It delivers 11.9 kg per 10 liters.
- Ultra-stabilized hydrogen peroxide
- Slow release effect that removes biofilm till the end of the pipeline
- Eliminates bacteria, viruses, yeasts and fungi, even when they hide in biofilm
- To be used during empty-and-operational barns
- Safe for humans, animals, materials and the environment
- Extensive registrations worldwide (including ECHA)

- A mature biofilm continuously disperses pathogens through the drinking water
- Causes corrosion (bacteria ‘eat away’ the surfaces)
- Cells in biofilms are more stress-adapted
- Biofilm extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) are spots for plasmid exchange, thus allowing bacteria to swap genes that give them resistance
- Animals can be underdosed (vaccines, antibiotics), leading to insufficient efficacy and building up even more resistance

Intra Hydrocare can be used for 2 purposes: cleaning and maintenance. What dosage should be used depends on several factors, such as the quality of the incoming water and whether the house is empty or animals are present.
Cleaning with Intra Hydrocare in an empty house
Fill the drinking system with a 1-3% solution (1-3 liters of Intra Hydrocare per 100 liter of water). The product has a self-working effervescent action, so brushing is not required. After filling all the pipes, drinking nozzles, cups or towers must also be filled so the whole system is treated. Ensure there is always air-escape in the drinking system. Allow the solution to stand for at least 12 hours and then rinse the whole system, including the drinking nozzles, cups and towers, with clean water.
Cleaning with Intra Hydrocare in an operational barn
If necessary, the system can be treated when the animals are present. Start with a dosage of 0.010% (= 100 ml Intra Hydrocare per 1000 liter of water) for 5 days. If needed, increase the dosage by 50 ml every two days until the maximum dosage of 0.020% is reached (= 200 ml Intra Hydrocare per 1000 liters of water). Depending on the amount and type of contamination, this method will take approximately 10 days. In case the water / feed intake changes, the dosage must be lowered.
In case of severe biofilm / pathogenic bacteria pollution, a water analysis is recommended and first clean the system when the animals are not present.
Maintenance with Intra Hydrocare
Incoming water is polluted at a dose of 0.0030–0.0050% (= 30–50 ml Intra Hydrocare per 1000 liters of water) every day.
Incoming water okay: dose 0.010–0.015% (=100–150 ml Intra Hydrocare per 1000 liter of water) 1–2 days a week.
Cleaning and disinfection of drinking systems in empty barns:
Use a 1-3% Intra Hydrocare concentration, and leave it for one night in the drinking water system. Ensure there is always air-escape in the drinking system.
Cleaning
Empty house
- 10-12 hours
- 1-3 % solution
Animals present
- 10-14 days
- Use 100 ml / 1.000 liters.
- If needed, continue with 100 ml / 1.000 liters until the system is clean.
In case of severe biofilm / pathogenic bacteria pollution, a water analysis is recommended and first clean the system when the animals are not present.
Make sure there is always air escape in the drinking system when cleaning the system. Be aware that 1 L Intra Hydrocare produces 200 L of oxygen.
Wear safety gloves and goggles when using Intra Hydrocare.
- The water quality can be easily measured with the Intra Clean Quick Scan.
- If you want to see if Intra Hydrocare's dosage is still effective at the end of the pipeline, measure the water with the Intracare peroxide strips. A heavily polluted system will show no active peroxide at the end of the pipeline, which means that the dosage should be increased.
- After overnight cleaning of the drinking water lines, empty the waste water in a white bucket to see the pollution that comes out of the lines.
- Q: Does Intra affect the taste or smell of the water?
A: No, Intra Hydrocare has no effect on the taste, smell, or pH of the water. Therefore, it does not affect the water intake. - Q: Can Intra Hydrocare be used in operational systems?
A: Yes, Intra Hydrocare has PT05 registration in Europe. This means the product has been proven to be safe for animals to consume at the recommended dosage. - Q: What is the difference between chloride products and Intra Hydrocare?
A: Where chloride products are good disinfectants, they possess no cleaning properties. This means that it cannot remove the biofilm, which is the breeding ground for micro-organisms, and the bacteria can survive hidden in the pipeline.
